These companies will contribute high-wage jobs, an outlet for local intellectual capital, and contributions to the local economy.
What is a high-growth company? Typically, these companies have trade secrets or patentable intellectual property that will be investable at a high level (i.e., angel or venture capital) at some point in the future.
Meet the CSTI Staff

Duncan Stewart
CEO / President
Duncan Stewart has a diverse background in R&D, general management, and marketing in the aerospace, defense, biomedical, and consumer products industries. Duncan specializes in executive management consulting for high-tech startups. He works closely with clients to build their businesses and develop go-to-market strategies. He has extensive experience in writing and presenting business plans to investors, conducting market research, managing patent portfolios, creating financial projections, hiring technical and managerial staff, and partnering with manufacturers and distributors.
Duncan serves on the Boards of Directors for several companies and nonprofit organizations to include Aqueous Biomedical, ConcealFab, FalconWorks, Peak Venture Group, the El Pomar Institute for Innovation and Commercialization (EPIIC), the Colorado Homeland Defense Alliance, and the International Council on Systems Engineering. He holds a BS in Management from the U.S. Air Force Academy, an MS in Aerospace Management from Embry-Riddle, and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Duncan is an Air Force veteran with experience leading aerospace R&D, maintenance, and logistics organizations. He is a former Assistant Professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy where he taught courses in marketing, innovation, and general management.

Dr. Roger Neeland
Program Director
Dr. Roger Neeland is a Technology Assessment and Application professional. With over 30 years of corporate, academic and military experience in understanding emerging technologies and their potential value. His specific areas of expertise include high value technology identification, technology application and in the development and business path for technology exploitation. As the Program Director for the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator, Roger is facilitating the National Security Innovation Competition in conjunction with the Colorado Homeland Defense Alliance. In addition, he is collaborating on technology transfer programs, overseeing and training interns, corroborating on grant proposals, and providing technical advice to Incubator companies. Roger is an astute engineer, director and manager, thorough in detail and knowledgeable in his field. He is a certified Project Management Professional, a graduate of the Defense Industrial College (National Security Management) and a State of Colorado Professional Engineer. Dr. Neeland received his Ph.D. from UCLA in Dynamic Systems Control (Major) and Operations Research (Minor); his M.S. is in Aero and Astro Engineering from MIT; and he earned his B.S. in Engineering Science from USAFA. Other experience includes two combat tours as Air Force Rescue and Special Operations helicopter pilot and Chief of Operational Training.

Mary Fox
Operations Director
Mary is responsible for facility management, vendor relations, marketing, and media relations for the Incubator. She has over 25 years in business and academic arenas incorporating organizational expertise and administrative support for higher education institutions (University of Maryland and Villa Julie College), a non-profit scientific association, The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and as general manager/business development officer for executive suites in Denver and in Colorado Springs. Her experience and tenure in the management field lends marketing, promotional and development knowledge and practice to the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator. Mary's familiarity and understanding of the business world and in managing staff provides the know-how in supporting the Incubator as it matures to higher levels in its development. Mary's undergraduate studies were in Business Administration and Accounting at the University of Maryland. In addition, she is the Editor and Publisher for Fox Meadow Publishing.
